Democracy AR

AR App

Context

In 2023, Israel witnessed large-scale protests against the government's proposed judicial reforms, sparking concerns about the country's democratic fabric. These protests, which began in January and continued until October, were fueled by fears that the reforms would weaken the independence of the judiciary and concentrate power in the hands of the ruling right-wing coalition.

The non-profit "Belief in the Declaration of Independence" was a major force during the protest and was collecting signatures for people to show support for the original document that states Israel should remain Jewish, DEMOCRATIC AND EQUAL FOR ALL CITIZENS.

Problem

How do you get people to engage with a non profit and interact with the Declaration of Independence while gathering signatures?

Role

UX UI for AR

Tools

Photoshop Figma

The project was an interactive experience that allowed people to sign the Declaration of Independence and sign it in support of democracy in Israel. The project is triggered by pointing your phone at the many stickers placed all over the city with the "Belief in the Declaration of Independence" logos on it.

The Solution

The app overlays a 3D model of the declaration on top of the real world. People could then sign the declaration and add their signature to the cause.

I isolated the section of the declaration which is highlighted by the organization which states;  [Israel] will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex"

Users were then able to take a selfie with

the Declaration and share.
